The interview with Daniel Okrent was of course a great experience. I think that meeting the author and discussing their book with them is helpful to any student. He gave great insight on our prompt and helped us understand what we were reading. To answer my questions he mentioned how the Congress didn’t really want to stop canada from bringing in alcohol. The border, especially around the Great Lakes, was too great to control and stop all transportation of liquor. To answer my second question, he stated that men were surprised and shocked that women were speaking up against them. I learned that there was more than one cause to why Prohibition failed.
